New Album: Barack Obama "Yes We Can! Voices of A Grassroots Movement"

New Album: Barack Obama "Yes We Can! Voices of A Grassroots Movement"

Barack Obama has a CD. Maybe he isn't rapping or singing himself, but the Presidential candidate put together a compelation of his favoire and most motivating songs possible. And if you pony up only $30.00 it's yours. I'm sure Barack understands the hard times the Country is having, I mean having us pay double price for a CD, when we're in a recession. He picked the worst industry to invest in. EIther way, the Cd has some one my favorites and is actually well done. Let me find out he has some A&R background.

On the Website, which you can visit HERE, Barack explains:

Through their musical contributions, the artists seek to mobilize voters in the final stretch before the November election. Many of the artists involved will also be volunteering their time to promote voter registration. Barack Obama to Jennifer Hudson: "Sing For Me...Please!"

Barack Obama to Jennifer Hudson: "Sing For Me...Please!"

Well Barack Obama didn't actually call up the former American Idol Winner, but his people called her people and said they wanted her for the Democratic Convention. As Jennifer Hudson's publicist reveals to People Magazine: "His reps called and said we'd love for you to sing the anthem on Thursday." She added, "She's thrilled and excited. It's a tremendous honor."

Thursday is also the day that the nominees will speak at the 2008 Democratic Convention. The convention which is taking place in Denver, is keeping mum about it until the "Official Schedule" is released.

Back in June Hudson has revealed to E! Online:

"I'm so proud and excited for him [Barack],". She continued, "I haven't gotten a call from them yet, but he does have my support." This is perfect timing seeing as her debut album is due out on September 30th.

Video: Michelle Obama Wows The Democratic Convention & It's Finally Not B/C of Her Clothes

Not that I don't think that America is one of the most fashion forward Nations, nor am I denying that until now, there hasn't been anyone close to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' iconic fashion status; but when your husband is about to be the first Black President of the Unites States of America, more than your clothes need to touch people. Before this Democratic convention, many people criticized the Obama's for their Pop Star image. People were more interested in their clothes and super sleek swagger. The only think I heard about Michelle was that she was a mom and she caused tons of middle class women to go out and get her look. But after her recent speech at the 2008 Democratic Convention has many of her doubters realizing she's as well spoken, captivating and motivated as her hubby Obama.

Nas Lands At No. 1 & Celebrates With A Protest At Fox Networks

Nas Lands At No. 1 & Celebrates With A Protest At Fox Networks

Everyone is always getting on Nas for siging to Def Jam, and even refer to him as Jay-Z's Bitch. However, no matter what you think, the numbers don't lie. Nas entered the Billboard 200 at #1, but wasn't at a celebration party with his wifey. He joined fellow fans, protesters and the organizations Color of Change and Move On in front of Fox Networks, where they attempted to deliver over 600,000 signatures on a petition. He was called in by the organizations after they heard his single, "Sly Fox", which is about the shady Fox Network.

As you may know the network has been getting extra flack for referring to Presidential Candidate Barack Obama's wife Michelle, as his "Baby's Mama". Not to mention a friendly fist bump (like a high five) between the couple was called a "terrorist fist jab". I honestly am not sure it was blatant racism or rather a sign and reflection of a change in the social order. I mean most people married or not are referred to as baby's mamas. My question is were comments like this said just about Obama, I've heard several reporters refer to celebrities as baby's mamas and daddys. I mean half of the News is entertainment now a days. As for the "terrorist fist jab" comment, that was a bit across the line; not that I haven't heard comedians and friends joke on his last name as well. I have no idea though, it could have been their own prejudice.

Either way, the Network didn't accept the protests. When they should seeing as some people are easily offended and many African American deal with prejudice on a regular; who would prefer not to hear it when they come home from a long day. That's why there's My9 News (In the Tri-State Area)...LOL!
