Al Sharpton Was Convicted in Charges From the Sean Bell Protest

Al Sharpton Was Convicted in Charges From the Sean Bell Protest

After the killing of Sean Bell, and the acquittal of the police involved in shooting him more that 50 times, Al Sharpton and many mixed peopled from around the city stood in protest. He along with hundreds of others, blocked bridges, tunnels and intersections to try to promote a peaceful protest. He was arrested.

Sharpton as well as many of his co-defendants, insisted upon a fair trial, although they would have likely been thrown out, like many other protesters. He took the stand during the brief trial and stated: "We wanted to stop violence, not cause violence."

The judge found him guilty and sentenced him to time served. Sharpton had already served 5 hours in jail following his arrest.

Al Sharpton & Sean Bell's Finace Get Arrested in Non-Violent Protest!

I personally have my own issue with this Sean Bell mess. But Al Sharprton, along with New Yorkers across the city, including the two men who survived the police massacre that killed Sean Bell were sitting the streets and stopping traffic. Ultimately leading to the arrest of Sharpton, the survivors, Bell's finance Nicole and around 200 other protesters. This was in lieu of the 'Not Guilty' verdict three police officers who shot at Bell and his friends following his bachelor party and hours before his wedding 50 times. They are trying to force a Civil Rights Trial by getting the attention of the U.S. Attourney's Office. Below is the full story.

2007 and Racism Still Booms in W Virgina

Bigots

I know you're thinking that in 2007, there may racist people, but to think that a crime like this, would still happen is far fetched; but it's closer to reality than you expect.

According to CNN, in West Virgina, 6 White Americans held a Black American hostage; all while they raped and beat her in their home. Only to be exposed after an anonymous tip to Police.

As Police investigated, a bruised and battered woman made her way to the door, with her arms held out. Her only words were; "Help Me".

Th victim had black eyes, cuts, part of her hair ripped from her scalp. The poor woman was forced to eat dog and rodent feces with some toilet water to wash it down. She was also, sexually assaulted and shows signs of physical and mental abuse, claims the Logan County Sheriff, W.E. Hunter.

Arrested for this travesty were; Frankie Brewster, 49; her son Bobby, 24; Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, West Virginia; and George A. Messer, 27, Karen Burton, 46, and Alisha Burton, 23, all of Chapmanville, West Virginia.
The six culprits were held on Monday, due to the 100,000 bond imposed on each member of this brutal attack.

I personally feel that this is just plain sick. Not only, do you have to have no sense of humanity, but in such a time where White and Black is no longer so clear. This just means that there are still mountains to be moved in terms of civil justice, equality and safety. I don't mean to be so preachy, but this...this is nasty.
