DyFuse Spotlight - Anthony Hamilton "The Point of It All"

DyFuse Spotlight - Anthony Hamilton "The Point of It All"

If you are close to my age (21), then you will understand the difference between R&B in the '90's and the 2000's. Hands down the '90's were more original, real and soulful; and let's not go back to the Motown days. Well few artists still hold off on being commercial and their pockets pay for it. Anthony Hamilton's new album, The Point of It All dropped on December 16th, 2008 and only made it to the 12th spot; but I am glad to see that he has 132,000 albums sold. But still, he even sites that Zomba Music Label (Sony BMG), did not give him money to push it, the way it needed to. So since I liked it, I am sharing it with you; and encouraging you dropping some Holiday money on him! Below is also the track listing!

Ciara Takes A 'Fantasy Ride' to The Shelf

Ciara Takes A 'Fantasy Ride' to The Shelf

You know I love me some Ciara. Her Evolution album was one of the few R&B albums that had substance when it dropped. However, executives at her SonyBMG label, Zomba, don't have the same faith in Cici. As they explained why Fantasy Ride, which was slated to drop December 9th, 2008, then January 2009, now has an uncertain Spring 2009 release date:

"The response to ‘Go Girl’ wasn’t strong enough to ignite an album. It’s a nice setup single because [the video] introduces Ciara’s new look and her new body, but it’s not the opener. Ciara opened very wide with her first album, which gave her a broad audience and crossover appeal. Her second album was a little more urban. With Fantasy Ride, they’re trying to strike a balance [between pop and urban] while looking for the right single. Right now, we are anticipating it for spring 2009, but we’re not gonna put another date on it.

Leave it to the big wigs at failing record companies, to try to hold on to an artists, image and ruin their appeal on their own.

Jennifer Hudson's Album Scrapped

It seems that distant Beyonce label-mate; Jennifer Hudson is having trouble creating a sound that's right for the power singer.

According to MediaTakeOut.com, the execs at J Records; a subsidiary of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, are not pleased with the song Ms. Hudson has recorded for her debut album. So much so, that they cut every track she had recorded.

Dont't worry though, Hudson fans, Mediatakeout's source has ensured that we'd be getting music from her shortly:

"The album was terrible - it sounded like a bunch of Broadway show tunes. If we let that out [to the public], it would have been a disaster." The insider spat, "It's not over for [Jennifer] though. We'll be putting her in the studio with some accomplished producers and hopefully things will turn out better."

Hmm...we'll see, this is still a developing story.
