CASSIE GROWS UP

CASSIE GROWS UP

R&B singer Cassie is gearing up to release her follow up to her self titled debut disc. The new as-yet-untitled sophomore set is scheduled for May 20 and Cassie tells Billboard although "I hate to use the words grown-up, I really, really did since the last time around."

"I guess I grew up a lot but I'm still in essence the same person. Lots have changed in my life, stuff that has made me think about things differently. I'm more vulnerable and you can hear my vocals better this time around. There's real emotion and a much realer connection with my fans."

The album features production from Seven, Mario Winans, Bryan Michael Cox, Eric Hudson, Sean C and LV and mentor Ryan Leslie, who discovered the Connecticut native. There are no guest features recorded as of yet.

Cassie says the first single will be "a club record -- something fun and danceable."

Cassie’s debut disc sold 319,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The lead single "Me & U" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 3 on the Hot 100. It has also sold 989,000 digital downloads.

DIDDY BECOMES A STAR

DIDDY BECOMES A STAR

Sean "Diddy" Combs will get the official taste of stardom during his upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Jan. 11, reports sixshot.com.

The hip hop mogul plans to have his whole family out to see him get his star.

"I'm from Harlem New York, so to get a star in Hollywood is just mind-blowing," Diddy said. "You can get a lot of things but when you see those stars on the ground...that's something I can't even say I dreamed of and to be getting recognized for it is definitely something I'm gonna have my whole family out there for," said Combs, who will soon reprise his role as Walter Lee Younger in the ABC telefil, "A Raisin in the Sun."

Sean “Diddy” Combs on the DLIST NOW?

Gossips over at St. Tropez's Les Caves claim Sean “Diddy” Combs was denied a table last Thursday night.

“He is so B-List here,”
“No one even acknowledges him,”

“Nobody goes out there until the first and second week of August,” says one insider. “Maybe he’s afraid he’ll get lost in the crowd once all the real celebs show up.”
