Personally, I always felt that Christina Milian's "So Amazing" album, was by far her best. I mean, we all know she can write hit hooks and songs. As she did for J-Lo and many others. However, many people felt that getting dropped from Def Jam during the promotion of her sophomore album was a slap in the face. No promotion means no one is hearing your songs or your music. Now signed to MySpace Records, Milian has a chance to let the world hear her music, her way and via the biggest networking site in history!
Christina was last heard of in 2006 when she was suddenly ditched by Def Jam and dropped Nick Cannon, like the bad habit he is. Her new effort will be on shelves October 6th, 2008. Although there is no official title for the album yet, it's lead single is called: "Us Against The World". Recently she spoke on the struggles at her old label and why this album means so much:
"I’ve been out of the game for one and a half years, and I think I’m long overdue for a comeback, so I’m treating this album like it’s my last chance to make an impression. I’m competing with myself and being very detailed.” “Before, I had a label telling me what direction to go in. Now, it’s my choice, so I’m being very particular about it and I’m really excited."
If you think no one in the game recognizes her talent, Milian added this about her fellow musicians:
"I have a lot of support from my peers. I have lots of people that love me and want the best for me. Sometimes things don’t work out the right way, but I know I work my butt off on my end. As long as you know you worked hard, you feel accomplished. Thankfully, I took the time off to check out what’s going on and now I’m back, and MySpace is allowing me to do tons of different things creatively."
