Usher Hires Mommy Back After Album Fails To Out Do Last

Usher Hires Mommy Back After Album Fails To Out Do Last

It was during my career at SonyBMG that I first learned that until, "Here I Stand", Usher had been the only artists to consistently out sell his previous albums sales. But, as we all know, the pandemonium died down from "Confessions" release in 2004; mostly because of his relationship with Tameka Foster. And although his Mom really didn't deserve the boot over her distaste for Foster, Benny Medina, who has now been fired by Usher, shouldn't have got the boot either.

Yes, Usher fans Mama Usher is back in the manager's chair after being fired on Mother's Day for her beef with the beast Tameka. They released the statement that:

"Usher has dissolved his management arrangement with Benny Medina and has re-engaged Jonnetta Patton as his manager."

But, as happy as I am for Jonnetta, I must make the point that it may not be Benny's fault. First and foremost, the industry is going through hard times. Secondly, Confessions carried into 2006 and 2007, as did his personal life. He was at a point where his advisors were telling him to wait for a comeback. He needed to let the paparazzi die down and start doing the Lil' Wayne techinque, by getting on all the remixes and guest spots possible, so that people would be talking about his music again; and not his love life. Then, he comes back with an alright single, not spectacular, not different; confessions was different. But, Benny Medina did also make his own statement sighting:

"With an artist like Usher, the bar is set really high. Whether it was management, marketing or the music, we achieved a number one single and a number one album. It is a completely new day and time in music now. In four years, his audience, demographic, and musical direction has changed. Records like Lil Wayne’s ‘Lollipop’ are the type of phenomena that ‘Yeah’ was in 2004."

Usher Talks Family Drama & Covers Entertainment Tonight

Usher is trying hard to promote his new album, as it is released tomorrow (May 27th, 2008). Well, he is featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and he speaks on his hurt from the publics dislike of his wife and why his Mama wasn't happy.

On Tameka:

''I was reading very hurtful things about the person that I chose to love, and I felt like they were taking stabs at me or my choice,'' Usher says. ''What about the fact that in our society there are not enough fathers for our black young men? And here I am being a great example and we don't embrace that?! Think about that. I wanna do it right, but I'm doing something wrong? That doesn't make sense.''

Usher's mom Jonetta Patton reportedly had a bustup with his wife, Tameka Foster, after Usher dropped plans to release his new record album reports Hiphopcrunch.

Gossips claim Tameka Foster insisted Usher take a break from his career to concentrate on her and their son, due in December.

Usher Stalls Album Release

Hmmm...I guess when your career relies on you being a sexy hot bachelor, or a grieving apologetic, cheater, that becoming a p*ssy whipped, tyrant (who by the way, fired his own Mama, over the ex-con of a wifey); won't sell you records. Yes, Usher, I am talking to you!

The other, Sony BMG artist, apparently is having some doubts about dropping his album next month. A source close to Mr. Raymond, apparently told the Washington Post, that the father to be's album is being delayed. The reason..."issues in his personal life." Sure, the only issue I see is; Tameka!

I think the real reason he's panicking about losing any album sales is this:

Usher is the of the- if not the SonyBMG artist to consistently out do records sales of his previous album, each time. He is treated like a King over there...he has bling worked into his contract. If his album fails, that may change, because they can renegotiate. Without Momma Jonetta there to get you the goods, what will you do?

Look 'forward' to Usher's album dropping in '08. That's the second Sony Artist to get pushed back, with that stellar Urban year they had last fall, can they keep up?
