L.A. Reid & Pharell Support Nas' Album Name, 50 Disagrees

By now, the buzz is growing with Nas's upcoming Lp's title. 'Nigger', has people thinking that Nas is taking it too far with is album names. Last time, let's not forget that a lot of the Hip Hop community was bitter with his release, "Hip Hop Is Dead". But, Fox News reported that people from Def Jam's office, said they could not release an album with such an offensive and/or explicit name.

When MTV probed the Record Label giant, L.A. Reid about Def Jam's concerns, he had this to say; "Really, who'd you hear that from?". "We support everything our artists do, everything!" he added. "We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure. Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him. Nas is prolific, he's prophetic, he's a genius, an amazing artist of respect. So, while I'm not sure exactly all that [the title] entails, I know it's smart, so I stand behind him. That's real."

Well, other artists seem to have his back. This year's BET Hip Hop Awards, big winner, Common had this to say:

"I love Nas," he continued, "Nas is always bringing something new, bringing something for us to think about. He's one of the best ever. If it wasn't for Nas, a lot of cats, including myself, wouldn't be rhyming the way they do. So I mean, I know [the title] is something behind what he's doing, he's making statements. That's something we need in hip-hop. Last Poets did it, Gil Scott-Heron did it, Marvin Gaye did it. We gotta keep making statements."

When 50 was asked what he thought, at a video shoot, he had this to say:

"Nas sucks," 50 said "It's nonsense, man. That's a stupid name. It doesn't make sense. Why would you title it that?"

Well, Nas spoke with MTV News and stated, "I wanna make the word easy on mutha----as' ears,". Nas continued, "You see how white boys ain't mad at 'cracker' 'cause it don't have the same [sting] as 'nigger'? I want 'nigger' to have less meaning [than] 'cracker.'"

Listen, I respect God's Son. I am a firm believer that words only have the power you give them. But, I do understand the sensitivity that older people who have experienced more racism, have.

Jay-Z: Quote Of The Week

I never think that Jay-Z makes many mistakes, but I, like many Hov fans felt like his early retirement was a bad call. Some speculated that it was publicity. Either way, JIgga feels that way too.

When asked about his farewell concert and retirement buzz, Mr. Carter had this to say:

"I want to never say that again... people looking at me like: 'Please shut up and go sit down somewhere'," said Jay-Z.

Kelly Rowland's N.A. Tour May Be Canceled!

It's bad news for Ms. Kelly. Ugh, her official website left some bad news on her site. They stated that with such bad sales for her North American tour, she may have to cancel the whole thing:(. This is what they said:

"In what seems like more bad news for Kelly Rowland and her fans, speculation is mounting that the singer's recently announced North American tour has been axed. More and more dates have steadily been canceled with the most recent being shows in Seattle, San Fransisco and Hollywood."

Things just ain't getting better. Never the less there's buzz about her finding new management and leaving Columbia. Hallelujah, because when your constantly bumped for Beyonce, it gets tired.
