Nia Long Shuts Down Beyonce's Acting Hype!

Finally someone in the Black community had the balls to say that Beyuki can't act! Nia declares in the article "Are We There Yet?":

"If you're a singer not an actress, you should sing. If you're a rapper, you should rap,"

In a cover story for Pride Magazine, Nia Long had some choice words about singers/musical artists, who cross over into acting without the dedication and skill, she and many other hardworking actresses display. Most notably she discusses Beyonce and her terrible acting skills. And what she said is quite true!

"I didn't see 'Obsessed,' so I can't comment, but it's just not about how talented you are anymore. It's about, 'How much box-office revenue will this person generate?' When you see certain people – we won't name names – they just don't have the skill, and no one in their team has said, 'You need acting classes,'"

She doesn't shit on every crossover act, like in the rare cases of people like Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese and Jamie Foxx. She said:

"If you take time to develop your craft, God bless you. Jamie Foxx is an example of both [actor and singer],"

She also dishes on her discontentment with the amount and quality of roles that are offered to Black woman:

"If you were able to take all the Black actresses and the choices we've made collectively, it's a pure reflection of what you see on film. People need to work. But the content? The opportunities for Black actresses are more widespread today, but the quality has suffered,"

Well, it's true. Beyonce can not act at all. She sucks. And people like 50 Cent need to quit it to. I will however give props to Diddy, who has at least spread his wings and did everything from Broadway to the Silver screen.
