"I was always a mama's baby," Hudson told Essence "I'd go and sleep in her bed until I was 15 years old."
David Otunga, the Harvard lawyer turned pro wrestler, formerly known as Punk on VH1's "I Love New York", explains that Hudson's biggest fear about promoting her debut album, and joining Robin Thicke on tour, was facing the press. And answering questions about her family.

Otunga added, "We don't talk about it," says Otunga, "In this time when things seem so uncertain for her, there is certainty in our bond. She doesn't have to worry about losing me. I'm always going to be right here." The pair were engaged after a blessing from J Hud's mom, on her 27th Birthday.
Hudson, recently re-proposed to Otunga with a Neil Lane ring to match the one he presented her. She explains how she loves that he's a 'family oriented man'. "I love that. And he is such a gentlemen, like, I sit in the car waiting because I can't touch the door. I am not allowed!"
What keeps this songbird going? "The thing that keeps me going is knowing that God is in control," she says. "It's like, if He placed me here then I must be prepared."
