First and foremost, two platinum albums or not, Shaq needs to stick to his day job (and tone up a bit more while he's at it). Below you will see his pathetic attempt at freestyling. The big man did also play a bunch of other NBA stars, so be sure to check that out. Shaq did already jump on the apology bandwagon and his statement is after the jump!
Now, since this beef all started in 2003 when Kobe mentioned that Shaq paid off his hoes, just like many other NBA players; I felt maybe he shouldn't have named dropped, but he made a valid point. The main problem many men in America had a problem with, was him breaking 'the code of silence'. The truth is, the code had already been blown when his one night stand went psycho and tried to call rape. He simply felt like every other man in the NBA who tried to distance themselves and plea the fifth should have been man enough to state the obvious; we're rich men with access to excess and it's not that uncommon for us to turn our backs on our vows. Again, maybe Kobe shouldn't have named names, but if you have such an issue, why would you name drop back. Why would you go on national TV and attract attention so that your soon to be ex-wife will see and your children? Either way he claims it was a just a big joke. I just wonder if Kobe couldn't do it without Shaq, what does that mean about Shaq and his new team; I didn't see them in the Finals either? Stop hating Shaq, stop being bitter, just start working out those knees!
"I was freestyling. That's all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what MCs do. They freestyle when called upon. I'm totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don't forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I'm a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don't make something out of nothing."
