While I was celebrating My birthday yesterday and some of my friends wanted my take on the whole Mariah Carey marrying Nick Cannon.I personally have stuck to my gut instinct, which is, Mariah Carey had an album to sell and Nick Cannon has four movies dropping this year. Plus why the hell would Mariah Carey in her right mind, marry Nick who at 27 is 11 years her junior with NO PRE-NUP? She is not that crazy.

First off, Mariah married Nick Cannon last Wednesday on the island of Eleuthera, where the only two qualifications you need to get married are: Being on the island for 2 days and being 18 years old. Well, Carey just recently bought a Caribbean home there and Nick may be young but he meets the age requirement. They have 'supposedly' been dating since last month when they filmed the video for, "Bye, Bye" and snitches were saying that she was all over the boy. Then a month later, they were married in a small ceremony in her new home...right.

It isn't new news to anybody that Cannon also proposed to Selita Ebanks and then the next day, her people were saying she really had no, no idea. It almost seemed odd. She called off the engagment and five months after the Times Square publicity stunt, they were through. So, when you want to smash Elvis' records and sell some movie tickets, how do you get anyone talking?

Plus all of you MC fans knows how she boasts that she doesn't let anybody sleep with her that easily. She is always flaunting the fact that she can't fill up one hand with the amount of people she's put to bed.

I do know that the ceremony did go down. A florist for the island, Henrietta White confirmed to E! news that she did help decorate the small ceremony. She said in a statement: "My son did the flowers for the wedding." Another source also added that since it was so rush rush that, "There wasn't time" for a pre-nup.

Cannon's family also had spoken out. Nick's aunt, Linda Cannon, "Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it...We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him." She either coldly or disapprovingly added. "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."

But then there's some insiders who know Ms. Mimi and the tight strings she holds around her finances. The source claims she is, "very protective of her funds". And there's just one more thing that's casting doubt in my mind. The jeweler who designed the ring, the shady, Jacob the Jeweler had no problem putting out a full press packet complete with picture of the rock the second the story dropped; as if planned. The ring, which looks strikingly similar to the one that he put on Selita's hand is, "crafted from platinum and features a square emerald cut fancy light pink diamond as the center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side.
