HALLE BERRY GETS AN AWARD

The Palm Spring Film Festival will honor Halle Berry with its Desert Palm Achievement Award, Variety reports. She will join fellow honoree Daniel Day-Lewis at the fest's annual gala on Jan. 5. Past Desert Palm recipients include Charlize Theron, Laura Linney, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet.

"We're excited to honor Halle Berry for her impressive body of work and mesmerizing performance in this year's 'Things We Lost in the Fire,'" said festival chairman Earl Greenburg.
