It seems that besides great music savvy, Ne-Yo has a big heart. The R&B crooner and his 'Compound Foundation' are hosting a benefit concert, to help raise some money for 'Grady Health System'. He actually visited the facility to get a first hand feel of what is needed.
The Press Release read like this:
'The artist was emotionally moved as he walked through the Neo Natal Unit, the Georgia Cancer Center of Excellence and the Emergency Care Center (the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the city) offering hugs and words of encouragement.
As he stopped to take pictures and sign autographs he shared, "This is so sad. With all the millionaires in the city; both in the entertainment industry, sports, and businesses, we can all do something to help."
His goal is to begin reaching out to all the local entertainers, athletes, and business communities to put this benefit concert on to raise money to help keep this hospital open. Ne-Yo is excited about pulling everyone together and making a difference in his new home city.'
I personally feel this is something that needs to happen within the Hip Hop community more often. Hats off to Ne-Yo.
